The babies are so cute! We have been spoiled by the calves staying right beneath our house so we can watch them out our windows. They are so spunky and make me laugh out loud, really! Some are so clumsy and others are quiet agile. Regardless, they all can move when they want! Today a calf that was born late last night managed to have me breathless after chasing her around the corral. I'm working on getting a video of the calves running because you just can't appreciate it until you see it!
I've been alternating night shifts with Dad for several weeks now. We check the first time Mama's every few hours for any cows in the birthing process. If there is some action I will hang around and check periodically on them or make sure any new calves have fed. Sometimes we have to pull the calves or bottle feed them but patience does seem to pay... it's just hard to remember that when you are thinking about your pillow at 3 a.m.
