I've been scratching my head on the remaining scraps of jeans I had left over from my Shabby Chevron Pillow. I thought about making a bag that you see on Pintrest all the time using the "shorts" from the jeans. But these jeans are big (40" waist) and I could just imagine this big, floppy bag that was in no way chic. Now I made this style bag years ago for a niece and in itty-bitty girl jeans it was adorable but it wasn't happening here.
I debated about trying to fashion a ruffly lamp shade but that seemed like a fire hazard, another pillow, hot pads?!? So... after lots of time spent staring at these pieces I decided that maybe I needed to think out of the box for some inspiration. I ripped them apart, gently of course, and started by bleaching the jeans - maybe this would help?
Ehh... not so much. Still uninspired. And then after a botched attempt at baking some beet chips and staring at my discolored hands I had what may have been the "ah-ha" moment! The jury is still out but I didn't have anything to lose at this point! So this is what we've been up to and my excuse **ahem**, reason for my delay in sharing a new project with you!
I finally have an idea and am looking forward to sharing it with you all in the near future!
how am I not following you on Pinterest?
