The ranch has always been home to bald eagles during the winter. They are such majestic creatures and fascinatingly large! I have been staring at the trees and sky hunting for just a moment with them and my camera but for the most part they evade me. Above is a distant glimpse from my back porch. I want something in action but these are elusive eagles! I will get them, it is my mission and Dad has started calling me with sightings on the place. Below is a nice shot of a red tail hawk I encountered during my efforts. The search continues, wish me luck!

Other then the river are there any lakes near by? They like to stay close to water.
